DAWN BEACH--Coral Beach Club held an open house in one of its newly-renovated villas on Wednesday, inviting villa rental companies, real estate brokers and businesspeople to view the luxurious property ahead of its anticipated fully operational re-opening in December.
The luxury property, beautifully landscaped, offers two- to four-bedroom beach-view and beachfront villas on Dawn Beach as well as two-bedroom townhouses overlooking Oyster Pond.
Guests were give a tour of the spacious three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom villa by Oyster Bay Resort General Manager Ricardo Perez, revealing master bedrooms with top-of-the-line imported furnishings and décor, living room/dining room looking out to a large terrace with swimming pool, and a kitchen with the latest state-of-the-art appliances, all in keeping with the expectations of a high-end clientele.
“This one with the sofa beds is perfect for families and that’s the great thing about these villas, they are very flexible, they can be rented out in different configurations, one, two or three bedrooms,” Perez said. “And guests staying here can use the facilities of Oyster Bay Resort.”
Needless to say, there were large flat-panel TVs in all the rooms and WiFi throughout. Quite remarkable was the superb quality of the hurricane protection system shielding the villa from the elements, including heavy-duty sound-proofed sliding doors sourced from Colombia that glide easily from left to right.
Oyster Bay Resort owns 12 of the villas and manages three more out of 24 units. The villas are all owned and most are rented out. Some owners do not rent out and use their villa for themselves. Rates vary from US $1,000 to $2,000 depending on time of year and season.
“The damage from Hurricane Irma was significant throughout, but especially on the beachfront, while other buildings had different levels of damage,” Perez said. “We expect to be finished with the renovation work in mid-November. As a matter of fact, we have some guests already staying in villas that are ready.”
The reconstruction was financed through a combination of proceeds from hurricane insurance and a special assessment for villa owners to cover the shortage on insurance coverage.
“Dawn Beach has come back to how it was before, a little thinner perhaps, but it’s still fantastic,” Perez enthused.
Coral Beach Club is open for reservations.
