CUL DE SDAC--On display during the final of the Prime Distributors Twenty20 tournament, will be a long list of exciting players from off island. Players from Anguilla, Antigua, Nevis and St. Kitts will complement the skills of the local players on St. Maarten in the final which is scheduled at Caribe Lumber Ballpark on Sunday from 2:00pm.

The two teams competing for the championship trophy are General Auto Repairs (GAR) Spartans and WINAIR Conquerors. Both teams have played well to advance to the final, but Spartans has benefitted most from the local content, and has not used any players from off island before the final.

For the final though, the Spartans has called in three players from off island. They are Mikyle Louis from St. Kitts, Kian Pemberton from Nevis and Kadeem Phillip from Antigua. These outstanding players are expected to join forces with local players; Keacy Carty, former West Indies U19 World Cup winner, Captain Kenroy David, former Leeward Islands youth player, Sherwin Peters and Akeem Charles, both who have played for the Leeward Islands senior team at the first-class level.

Louis was a member of the West Indies U19 team for 2016/17 one-day season. He is known for his attacking stroke play, which was exhibited here just last month. Pemberton is a fast bowler who debuted for the Leeward Island Senior team for the 2018/19 season, and was a member of the West Indies U19 team at the World Cup in New Zealand in 2018.

Phillip has been labelled very early in his career as a Twenty20 batsman, because of his ultra-aggressive stroke play. He has played for the Leeward Islands in a regional Twenty20 against Trinidad and Tobago when he was only 19 years old and for the Windward Islands in the Regional Super50 in 2017. He is also a left-arm spinner.

The Spartans is now a super team with the inclusion of those players from off island.

Spartans decided to go the extra mile to strengthen their team for the final after Conquerors played eight players from off island in the semi-final against NAGICO. Some possible players who will be on show for Conquerors are: Captain Adelvin Phillips, Andre Brown and Joel Simmons who are all from Nevis. From Anguilla are: Wasim Mintos, Ashley White, Chesney Hughes, Yannick Leonard and Samuel Connor.

Presently, the leading run scorer for Conquerors is Phillips with 211 runs, while the top bowler is White with 15 wickets. For the Spartans, Charles is the leading run scorer with 496 runs, while the leading wicket taker is Damion Williams with 13 wickets.

From 10:00am on Sunday, NAGICO United Cricket Club will take on Masters for third place trophy.
