Who is Mr. Fierce?

Catwalk Trainer

Mr. Fierce was born on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten. He lived with his mom and sister, who used to model and do many pageants, inspiring Mr. Fierce to become who he is today.

After competing in the StarPic Model Search on St. Maarten, Mr. Fierce won the title and was granted a scholarship to attend Ophelia DeVore Model School in New York. It was there that he was awarded best runway model at his graduation, out-shinning all male and female models. He later went on to be first runner-up in Mr. Pan Africa USA pageant representing his island St. Maarten. In 2001, he won the model of the year catwalk contest in New York City.

Since moving to the UK, Mr. Fierce has become the three-time award-winning best model coach in the UK voted at the BEFFTA awards. Of him, the BEFFTA team wrote:

“After attending modelling school in New York where he was awarded best runway model, he built up his career training models all over the world. Runway model coach Mathew is a force to reckon with and has recently joined London School of modelling as a trainer. The BEFFTA award winning star dubbed as Mr Fierce has taken on the city to teach techniques on how to walk, turn, sit, hold a bag, remove a jacket, display a jacket, display a garment to its best advantage amongst other skills. He has recently received great reviews from the press, including the famous mainstream OK Magazine! The flamboyant modelling trainer has set up personal one to one modelling classes called ‘Put the base in your walk’ … If you are looking to get into modelling or improve your runway skills, then these classes are not to be missed.”

Mr. Fierce: “I can never forget when I arrived to the United Kingdom. I was told I could never compete with the already established model coaches, which made me want to give up; but I had no other choice than to prove them all wrong. Since being the award-winning Best Model Coach in the UK, I have also had the chance to grace major TV stations such as ITV2 featuring the show Models, Misfits and Mayhem, and MTV’s Plane Jane, which was seen around the world.”

Mr. Fierce’s eyes are now set on being a judge on Britain’s Next Top Model. He says, “I am claiming that seat in God's name. That seat has my name written all over it and I want it.”

Mr. Fierce is also known as the Catwalk Professor, the man who teaches all the girls how to walk. “I believe behind every good man is a good woman. Behind every good model who walks the runway is a good man who teaches her how it's done. I would like to encourage others who may have any talent. Don't be scared to show it to the world. I love what I do and that is all that matters. Some people may not like the idea of it, but who are they to judge what my talent should be and not be? We are all gifted, you find your talent and I find mind. I would like to thank everyone for the amazing support I am getting on Instagram.”
