EUSTATIUS--St. Eustatius Auxiliary Home in St. Eustatius held its annual Christmas Concert on Saturday evening.

The concert was hosted by St. Eustatius Auxiliary Home Foundation with the proceeds of the concert to benefit the  home and its senior residents.

The night featured two masters of ceremony: David Ignacio and Miranda Roosberg. This year’s concert was packed with performances by local talents. Dr. Marije Veerman performed three songs, which were well received by the audience, who sang along throughout her performance.

The show also featured a group of newcomers to the stage. The Dancin Pearls Minnies under leadership of Lucienne Papa gave two performances which were well received by the audience.

Former Commissioner Roy Hooker and two of his young cousins showcased their musical talents in performing two tunes, with “Little Drummer Boy” being the highlight of their show.

There were many performances, skits, poems and musical showcases during the concert, which were all highly appreciated and well received by the audience.

One highlight was when Nurse Glenda Woodley took centre stage to perform “How Will Santa Get Here.” At the beginning, Woodley’s performance was a bit rough, until Luke Blair picked up the guitar to help her. Woodley’s performance then took off like a rocket as she gained more confidence. The public then sang and clapped along with Woodley.
