Fort Louis closure to public now extended to May 23

MARIGOT--The Collectivité informs the population that the restoration and protection work on Fort Louis has been extended to May 23, at 6:00pm.

Since Monday, May 14, delicate and urgent safety work at the entrance started under the supervision of architect for historic monuments Pierre Bortolussi from the company TERH-Caraibes. One of the areas of concern has been stabilizing and repairing the entrance arch to the Fort.
Visitors are asked not to climb the steps or enter the Fort for the duration of the operation and to respect the signs. The restoration work is being financed by the Collectivité with the support of the Préfecture of St. Martin and St. Barths (Development Contract) and the Direction des Affaires Culturelles de Guadeloupe.
