Great Bay Beach, Boardwalk Blvd. being cleaned

PHILIPSBURG--The Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI has announced that a clean-up of Great Bay Beach and Boardwalk Boulevard will begin on Thursday, September 26.

The clean-up is related to the large amount of seaweed and debris that washed ashore from the passing of Tropical Storm Karen. The work will take approximately two days, according to a press release.

“Even though Karen passed well South of the country, the Southerly swells from the storm still impacted the Southern coastal areas,” said VROMI on Wednesday.

VROMI advises pedestrians not to use Boardwalk Boulevard between 6:00am and 4:00pm on Thursday and Friday, due to the use of heavy equipment.

VROMI apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
