PHILIPSBURG--A police patrol arrested a man B.B. on Thursday afternoon for his involvement in an altercation over the return of a vehicle rental deposit.
According to police, the altercation took place near the end of 2019 when B.B. returned a vehicle rented from owner R.A.B.
After inspecting the vehicle, R.A.B. determined that B.B. was not entitled to the return of the deposit. This led to a heated argument which quickly escalated into a fistfight between the two. During the altercation, B.B. also damaged the vehicle.
R.A.B. went to the Philipsburg police station after the fight and filed an official complaint. Detectives later investigated the matter and requested that the Prosecutor’s Office issue a warrant for B.B.’s arrest.
B.B. was arrested at his home and was brought to the Philipsburg police station. He has been incarcerated pending further investigation, said police.
