SMMC’s Emergency Room
ZAGERSGUT--One man has died after suffering grievous injuries in a late-night stabbing at a bar on Tassel Road around 11:30pm Sunday. He and another man were both wounded in the incident.
Both victims were gone when police arrived at the scene, having been transported to St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) by private vehicle. At the scene, officers approached several persons to try to piece together what had happened.
Both men arrived at SMMC in critical condition and were not able to give statements to the detectives.
SMMC staff notified police on Monday morning that one of the victims had succumbed to his injuries and died.
This homicide is unrelated to the woman who was found killed in her home in Beacon Hill on Monday afternoon (see related story).
