No new COVID-19 cases over  weekend on the French side

MARIGOT--No new cases of COVID-19 were reported on the French side over the weekend, but one death was reported on Saturday by the regional health authority ARS.

The deceased was a Dutch St. Maarten resident who had been evacuated to the Guadeloupe University Hospital but passed away on Friday, April 17.

As he was a resident of Dutch St. Maarten, he is not included in French-side deaths but he had been counted as one of the French-side active cases and his death brings those down to 12. Three cases are in hospital (one in St. Martin, two in Guadeloupe) and nine persons are in isolation at home. Nineteen persons have recovered and there have been two deaths (St. Maarten resident not included). Three persons had previously been evacuated to their countries of origin.

Total reported cases to date since the outbreak of COVID-19 began are 37 (20 men and 17 women). St. Barths currently has one case isolated at home and five recoveries.
