Online travel update

Tourism and Economic Affairs Minister Cornelius de Weever updated 31 regional and international travel trade media organisations about destination rebuilding post-Hurricane Irma via a live online interview organised by Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) on May 30.

Media logged on were from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad and Tobago, representing among others Huffington Post, Travel Weekly, Cruise Critic, National Geographic Traveler, Fodor’s Travel, and Easy Planet Travel. “As a destination, we have to keep the travel trade media informed and updated with how things are progressing in our rebuilding efforts since the storms of September 2017. There is much progress and many positive developments related to our tourism-dependent economy,” said De Weever. Also giving updates were St. Martin, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Dominica.
