PHILIPSBURG--The Prosecutor’s Office OM organised a two-day OM Carib Academy last week Thursday and Friday in the context of Learning and Development and Team-Building for all its employees. Colleagues from the BES islands, St. Maarten, Aruba and Curaçao came together for this event.

The Prosecutor’s Officer said in a statement Tuesday that the OM Carib Academy had taken place in Curaçao for the first time. The first day was dedicated to Learning and Development. The morning programme started with a lecture by psychologist Micha van de Vorst, who dealt in an interactive way with the subject “How to deal with the vehemence of work.”

For the rest of the day, the OM employees could follow different workshops aimed at further developing legal knowledge and/or personal development. There was also plenty of room to get to know colleagues better. The day ended with a team-building activity during which the employees could show their musical talents in an interactive and fun way.

The Big Parket meeting GPV took place on Friday. The GPV is an annual event where OM Carib colleagues come together and deal with a specific topic. This year the GPV was in the context of Integrity. Integrity is a subject that is central to the work within the Prosecutor’s Office and, therefore, it is of great importance that the colleagues discuss this topic together and learn how to deal with integrity issues.

All employees worked together in a creative session on various paintings during the afternoon, eventually creating four large paintings that reflect the characteristics of the different islands. This contributed to the participants’ team spirit.

The day ended with a happy hour with all participants.

The OM looks back on two instructive and successful days, according to the OM on Tuesday.
