Prostitutes flown home

Campo Alegre

WILLEMSTAD--A group of 22 prostitutes in Curaçao flew back to the Dominican Republic last Saturday.

They worked in the island’s only regulated brothel Campo Alegre, which had to close its doors because of government’s COVID-19 measures. The women were able to leave after the intervention of the Dominicano Consulate which arranged a charter to pick them up.

Upon arrival in Santo Domingo they had to be quarantined in a special hotel as a precaution against the coronavirus. The second group of prostitutes from Colombia is being repatriated this week.
