This afternoon through Sunday midday: Fair to partly cloudy with isolated showers.

SURFACE WINDS:
This afternoon through Sunday midday: Northeast to east with a light to moderate breeze of 04 to 13 mph.

SYNOPSIS:
Patches of moisture embedded within the wind flow will account for isolated showers across the local area.
Seas are expected to peak near 5 feet for the next few days.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to Moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 5 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 11 AM the center of Topical Depression 11 was located near latitude 13.2 North, longitude 53.5 West or about 700 miles southeast of St. Maarten. The system is moving slowly toward the west at 3 mph. A westward to west-northwestward motion at a slightly faster forward speed is expected during the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds have decreased near 30 mph with higher gusts. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).
Tropical depression 11 is forecast to become a remnant low on Sunday and dissipate east of the Lesser Antilles Sunday night. As a result, this system does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.

At 11 AM, Tropical Storm Kirk was located near latitude 8.3 North, longitude 23.6 West. Kirk is moving toward the west near 14 mph and a westward to west- northwestward motion at a similar forward speed is expected to continue through tonight. Maximum sustained winds are currently near 40 mph with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast through Sunday, with little change in intensity forecast on Monday and Tuesday.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches). Currently this system does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.

The Meteorological Department St Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of these systems and update the public accordingly. Residents are advised to keep informed on these systems.

OUTLOOK through Monday midday: Partly cloudy with occasional isolated showers.
