SYNOPSIS:
An active tropical wave approaching the region may cause increased cloudiness, showers and the chance for thunderstorms across the region. Meanwhile, a weakened Atlantic high pressure ridge will account for mostly light winds.
Slight to moderate marine conditions are expected throughout the weekend.

SPECIAL FEATURE:
Showers and thunderstorms associated with a trough located a few hundred miles east of St Maarten have changed little in organization this morning. However, environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for additional development during the next few days and a tropical depression could form by the middle of the week. This system is forecast to turn northwestward and then northward over the western Atlantic, passing north of St Maarten on Monday and Tuesday.
