COVID-19 patients who currently end up in intensive care at Aruba’s Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) tend to stay sick and require respirators longer than during the first- and second waves of coronavirus.
The reason is unknown, but old age, diabetes and high blood pressure are the most common underlying high fatality risk factors.
