The Learning Unlimited (LU) Preparatory School Student Government, under the guidance of Dean of Students, Head of Middle and High School Danny Fleming, presented Coach Tom Burnett with much-needed supplies for families in need on Thursday, June 21.
Coach Tom heads up the Player Development programme in Philipsburg with other volunteers and supporters who have been active in helping the ballplayers’ families and others in need. Student Government President Hanaya Merlet explained that money to purchase the supplies was raised through fundraising bake sales and pizza days hosted by the senior class throughout the 2018 school year. She said the students really wanted to help and she hopes the supplies go a long way in assisting families. Coach Tom thanked the students and LU in general and started distribution of the supplies later that same day.
