SVOBE honours several long-serving educators

 PHILIPSBURG--The Foundation for Secondary Schools SVOBE board members tipped their hats on Thursday to a number of long-serving educators at SVOBE schools – Milton Peters College (MPC) and Sundial School.

Thanked for his service was Hendrik de Vries, an Economics teacher, who officially reached the pension age. He worked for SVOBE at the HAVO/VWO Department at MPC and later at Sundial School for more than 15 years.

Also thanked was Bienvenido Richardson, a technical lab assistant, for the VSBO-TKL and HAVO/VWO Departments at MPC. Richardson celebrated 35 years of “committed service” to SVOBE.

Michelle Allewaert, a French subject teacher who celebrated 25 years in education, 11 of which were at MPC, was also thanked.

Hats went off to Iwan Blankendal, who teaches Mathematics and Physics. Blankendal retired officially in 2011, but continued to work for the last seven years. He has been with SVOBE for more than 25 years.

Also thanking the teachers were the central management team of the schools, department heads and colleagues.
