ST. EUSTATIUS--Passengers disembarked from a chartered SXM Airways aircraft that touched down at F.D. Roosevelt Airport on Wednesday, April 8. The passengers onboard were patients of Health Insurance Department ZVK who returned home from medical referrals.
The travellers were met by employees of St. Eustatius Public Health Department wearing personal protective clothing. Most of the disembarking passengers wore face masks. Health-care workers escorted the patients to waiting vehicles.
The SXM Airways aircraft took off with ZVK patients who will receive medical treatment abroad.
Later that day, the SXM Airways aircraft returned to bring home Statia residents and ZVK patients who were stranded abroad due to the flight restrictions in connection with the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. These passengers were also welcomed by employees of the Health Department.
