At this festive time of year, the joyful singing of Christmas Carols brings tidings of hope, peace and goodwill to all.
The strength of our community, both home and abroad, continues to define our hopes for Anguilla. As we reflect on the year that has passed, it must be in recognition of all the dedicated and collective efforts that have enabled our communities and environment to prosper.
Whilst there has been much to celebrate, it has also been a year of challenge and one of loss. As we seek to go forward, there are words of encouragement in Hebrews 11:1: “Now, faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
As we come together at this time of goodwill, may it bring a moment of peace and celebration to all.
My time as Governor of Anguilla will end next year, but it is not yet time to say farewell. There is still much to do as we enter the New Year. With the Hon. Deputy Governor, I look forward to progressing much of the work that has already begun.
