Two Caribbean Laser sailors from Team Island Water World took part in the European Laser championship in Gargnano, Lake Garda in Italy. St. Maarten’s Frits Bus flying sail number AHO 151751 and Benoit Meesemaecker from St. Barts sailing FRA 199146 both placed third in their groups. Conditions were difficult. There were strong winds in the morning and very light air in midday. The regatta was sailed over a five-day period with many abandoned races with wind pushing 40 plus knots, or a dying wind, and even to much wind direction shifts.
