CUL DE SAC—Pelicans Under 7 team won the opening games of the St. Maarten Football Federation Youth League Saturday. Pelicans defeated Oualichi 1-0 and later bested United Super Stars 3-0.
The Youth League will play games Saturdays starting at 8:30am to noon at Emilio Wilson Sports Corner and Wednesdays at Raoul Illidge Sports Complex from 5:30 to 7:00pm. The competition features age groups U7, U9, U11 and U13.
The Under 9 teams also played Saturday with FC Soualiga going 2-0. They defeated Pelicans 5-0 and Hottspurs 2-0. Hottspurs also drew 1-1 with Oualichi and Belvedere FC beat United Super Stars 3-0.
Wednesday in the Under 11 group Hottspurs beat Oualichi 4-0, Willfull Skillfull bested Belvedere FC 2-0, Pelicans clobbered FC Soualiga 5-1 and Hottspurs drew 1-1 against United Super Stars.
In the Under 13 division Belvedere FC and FC Soualiga drew 2-2 and Pelicans beat Oualichi 4-1.
In the High School competition at the Sports Complex Saturday
Milton Peters Collage Girls bested Learning Unlimited Girls 4-0 Learning Unlimited Boys drew 1-1 against St Dominic Boys and Milton Peters Boys defeated PSVE Academy Boys 3-1.
