Hi, my name is Desiree Winkel, owner and founder of Fitness Coaching. Fitness Coaching is a studio/gym where you can work out with professional trainers. Among the workout programs we offer are boot camps, cardio boxing, functional training, weight loss training, group training and personal training. We have studios in Simpson Bay and in Philipsburg that are open six days a week.

At Fitness Coaching, we get a lot of people with limitations, injuries or uncomfortable issues in their bodies. That is the reason why I studied Applied Movement Neurology (AMN).

AMN is a comprehensive Personal Training system of strength, health and wellness that acts to functionally drive the nervous system to relieve pain, promote optimal respiration, and increase complex motion skill via brain based drills, gymnastics, hand balancing and martial arts movements.

Whenever I’ve applied AMN to my clients, I’ve noticed that in a very short time, I could bring them back to have less pain or even no pain at all. Clients get really excited when I show them the movements and explain to them why we do them. I also call it rewiring of the brain.

The brain is a very complex part of the body seldom understood by regular people. Think of it: when somebody loses a leg (let’s say it’s been amputated), that person can still feel pain or an itch in the amputated leg. Now why do you think that is so? It’s because the brain is telling that person to feel that.

Let’s say you are in Africa on a safari. You have a great time with your guide and other tourists. Your guide’s car suddenly stops working and you are in the middle of a pack of lions. The lions are coming closer and closer to the car and you get really scared. You jump out of the car to try to escape the danger, but you break your ankle in the process and are in pain.

Suddenly, the lion approaches you very fast. Believe me, this is what you do: You get up, forget about your ankle – broken or not – and start running. This is one of the few examples I can give you. The brain is a VERY powerful tool.

Testimonial: “I had lower back pain for four years, did an MRI and had a slight bulged disk. Even when it was a minor injury, I was in pain and had to take pain killers every day. Then I heard about Fitness Coaching and their medical trainers. It took me six one-on-one training sessions and three weeks of group training in still a personal setting to be fully recovered. I keep training with them now because movement is very important. On top of the training results, my body looks so much better and firmer.”

Let pain not get in the way, because there is a solution for your issues most of the time.
