Free Weeklong Health Expo on the Ring Road

Come out and enjoy the opportunity to learn, and share healthy lifestyle info with our community. Sponsored by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the sessions will run from May 15th to the 22nd. Look for the giant tent with booths just beyond Lekkerbek Airplane on Ring Road in Philipsburg.

Each booth and each night is dedicated to one of the eight laws of health: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunlight, Temperance, Air, Rest and Trust in God. Experts in each area are available during the health expo – Dr. Ruth Douglas, Dr. Davis, and Les Brown are a few of the names that will take the attendees through the physical and spiritual aspects of gaining enriched and healthy lifestyles.

Lifestyle consultant Lee Wellard will be on hand to demonstrate how to make your own herbal preparations for pain ointments, immune boosters, hair products and natural remedies. There will also be testing available for cholesterol glucose, etc..

Each night there will be demonstrations of short and simple recipes that can be made and tastings will also be given. This will be highly encouraging to all that in just 10 minutes good, nutritious and tasty meals can be prepared that will set you and your family on the road to improved health.

Many in our community suffer from lifestyle diseases, because they do not follow the eight laws of health. These include diabetes, high blood pressure, constipation, obesity, indigestion, depression and even cancer! By following these eight steps such issues will lessen or disappear altogether.

Nutrition and exercise are certainly critical. We are what we eat and natural low-fat, high-nutrient food is the best. Daily exercise will add quality to your life even just a short walk is guaranteed to add to your mental and physical condition. Water is needed for health, six glasses per day for the inside as well as regular bathing/showering for the outside. Sunlight is needed, just a few minutes a day makes a great difference. Air is essential, but also we must remember to breathe deeply with gratitude for our lives. Rest is too often pushed aside, our busy lives lead to stress and tension that are very unhealthy. We need to remember to rest and recharge ourselves to be able to better serve those we love and do our jobs. Temperance is another word for moderation in all things, but total abstinence for those things that are harmful, such as drugs or junk food. Trust in God is the foundation for all of the above and will give peace of mind to each person. Many sicknesses originate from a disturbed mind. The relationship between a troubled mind and a diseased body is very real.

Find out more and be a part of this special event by coming out any or all evenings from May 15th to May 22nd – that’s Sunday to Sunday. It’s free to all and there is plenty of parking!
