Welcome Back to Naturopathy

Over at La Palapa, on the second floor of the shopping centre, there’s a new place that specializes in Naturopathy, which is run by Isabelle, a specialized doctor of naturopathic medicine. Naturopathy (or naturopathic medicine) is a form of pseudoscientific, alternative medicine that employs an array of practices branded as "natural", "non-invasive" and promoting "self-healing". For this Valentine’s Day, give yourself the gift of a healthy body.

The ideology and methods of naturopathy are based on vitalism and folk medicine, rather than conventional medicine. Naturopathic practitioners generally recommend against modern medical practices, including but not limited to medical testing, drugs, vaccinations, and surgery.

At the new centre for Naturopathy, Isabelle works with you to analyze your sickness in order to provide a personalized experience in natural healthcare. Services range from different types of sickness, wellness up-keeping, as well as weight loss through herbal detoxes and remedies.

Isabelle requires an initial consultation during which she will work with you to create a personalized plan. This is essential, as what is sometimes good for one patient may not necessarily be safe for others. In addition to her business with naturopathy, she also provides services in cryolipolysis.

Cryolipolysis is a medical treatment used to destroy fat cells by freezing. The functional principle is the controlled application of cooling, within the temperature range of +5 to −5 °C for the non-invasive, localized reduction of fat deposits, in order to reshape the contours of the body. The degree of exposure to cooling causes the apoptosis (cell death) of subcutaneous fat tissue, without apparent damage to the overlying skin.

Cryolipolysis is used for removing certain areas of body fat that are just under the skin to contour a person. Evidence supports its effectiveness at three to four months. It appears primarily applicable to limited discrete fat bulges. According to a 2015 review, it shows promise with the average fat reduction, measured by callipers of about 20 percent.

With the small number of people treated, clinical data remain scarce, thus it is not known how long the effects of the treatment will last, or when and if later treatments would be necessary to maintain the result.
