CIA & Montessori Fundraising Initiative
Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said of the devastation the island suffered from Tropical Storm Erika: “The extent of the devastation is monumental. We have, in essence, to rebuild Dominica.”
Caribbean International Academy (CIA) and Montessori School have joined forces to bring you the ultimate fundraising initiative. Like many St. Maarten residents, we watched in horror the devastation brought by Tropical Storm Erika onto the beautiful island of Dominica.
CIA and Montessori students, parents and staff members cannot stand by without lending a helping hand. Here is a schedule of planned events for this one-of-a-kind fundraiser. Join us in helping the victims and make Dominica the beautiful island once again.
The Amazing Bake Sale – Thursday & Friday, September 17, 18
Have you got a sweet tooth? Yes… no… maybe so? Show your support by purchasing some home-baked goods. All items cost $1 each. Time: 11:00am -1:00pm.
Donation Drive – Thursday, September 14 -25
Each homeroom class will be collecting clothing, toiletries, blankets/sheets, school supplies, canned goods, water, kitchenware, boxes and bins. Anything you no longer use that is still in GOOD WORKING order will be greatly appreciated!
Party Yoga-Pool Party – Wednesday, September 23
Parents and friends are welcome to attend! Take the plunge and stretch yourself to give to the Dominica Relief Fund. Yoga isn’t your thing? That’s okay! Join the Pool Party – trained instructors and lifeguards will be on duty. Cost: Give what feels good to participate in 1.5 hours of splashy, stretchy, relaxing and laughing fun. Time: 3:00-4:30pm.
Meet the Teacher Night – Thursday, September 17
Where: Ground floor by the lockers. For parents: Free coffee and tea with the purchase of our yummy treats! Refreshments and baked goods ($1 each) will be on sale. Time: 6:00-9:00pm.
Teacher Dare Day – Friday, September 25
Would you like to see your teacher dance the robot? / Give free homework? / Jump off the diving board? Stay tuned for Mr. Klassen’s ULTIMATE dare! Donate your dollars and the teachers will do your dares! Every dare has its price.
