Seaside Nature Park had a Family Fun Day Fundraiser which was a lot of fun. Since Hurricane Irma, a lot has been done to make Seaside Nature Park a great place to once again enjoy animals and nature, but still more can be done and that is why they decided to have this fundraiser. They had a lot of different things to do for children and adults of all ages. Most things did not cost anything, while you could do a few at a small cost.
One of the activities was grooming the horses. Grooming a horse means that you take care of a horse by cleaning and brushing his hair and coat and that you clean his hooves, just like you would clean your fingernails. You might even braid the hair of its tail or mane to make it look even nicer. Seaside Nature Park has a Grooming Club of which kids can become a member.
You had a choice of rides. A short pony ride to feel how it is to sit on a pony or a one hour trail ride on a horse to enjoy the 30 acres of land that is part of Seaside Nature Park. They also put on shows in the paddock, which is a special fenced-in area. Specially trained riders did acrobatic tricks on the back of a horse while riding! If you would like to learn how to ride a horse yourself, you can do so at Seaside Nature Park.
At the Fun Day, you could see what a riding lesson would be like during a demonstration. But there were other things to do without horses. There was a bouncy castle and lots of other animals to see and pet in the Cuddle Corner with mini pets. Other animals that you could meet and greet were donkeys, goats, pigs, peacocks, chickens and a variety of birds flying around. Or you could go to the little beach and enjoy the sun, sea and sand.
There were lots to do for everyone to enjoy. And if you got hungry for a snack, they had specially made Dutch pancakes or ham & cheese Paninis (which is a special kind of tasty bread) at the La Hacienda Beach Bar. Or you could satisfy your sweet tooth with ice pops, popcorn, candy or cookies. It was indeed a fun day in the sun!
