~ At Gelateria Milano ~
Some folks are nice, like Mr. Tim who runs the ice cream stand called Gelateria Milano on the boardwalk. He decided kids needed a place to play, so he built a great playground right in the sand of the beach across from his store. There are slides, swings and a climbing wall.
And to top off all your fun, there is awesome freshly homemade gelato! That’s Italian-style ice cream and it’s so good you’ll want to stop by every day all summer long! Good thing there is a playground to work off all those calories!
Here is some info from Mr. Tim about the Gelato: “Our homemade Italian gelato is prepared daily in-house. We have created about 40 flavours; we make 16 different ones every day for you to discover so even as a resident, you will find something different from the last visit. The main difference between gelato and ice cream is that gelato contains less fat than ice cream. Original Italian Gelato is made with organic dairy fats only (milk). The ‘life’ of gelato is a few days; this is the reason why it has to be made daily. Gelato is creamier, smoother, more colourful and tastier than ice cream. We also prepare some Vegan Sorbettos that are made daily with fresh cut fruits, such as pineapple, mango, banana and lemon.”
Check out these pictures of the play area just near the Greenhouse end of the Boardwalk. Kids are welcome anytime, and you are sure to make new friends while hanging around on the monkey bars. So come by this summer to play, eat ice cream and make new friends!
