RECIPE

Ice Cream Cake

Make a no-bake ice cream cake. This is loads of fun to make and even more fun to share and enjoy. All ingredients are bought. Here is an example of what you can do, but use your imagination and make a layered ice cream cake according to your taste.

Ingredients
1 packet Oreos without the centre cream (or other flavoured biscuits)
¼ cup melted butter
Large containers of bought ice cream; choose your flavours
16oz squeeze jar hot fudge, warmed
Spray can topping cream
Chocolate sprinkles, strawberries or your choice

Method
Crush the packet of biscuits until quite fine (you can do this by sealing them into a zip-lock bag and bashing them with a rolling pin).
Oreos are always a good choice, but you can use Graham crackers or ginger biscuits too.
Mix half the biscuit crumbs and all the melted butter together in a bowl then press evenly into a greased 9x13 pan. Save the other half of the crumbs.
Leave the ice cream out for a short while to soften and spread a thick layer of ice cream over the crumb base. (You could use vanilla ice cream for this layer.)
Sprinkle a layer of biscuit crumbs over the ice cream and then if it is very soft, put it back into the freezer for half an hour.
Put another layer of ice cream over the crumbs. (You could use pink ice cream for this layer.)
Drizzle warmed fudge over this layer and put it back into the freezer for two hours or until needed.
When you want to eat the ice cream, remove from the freezer and let it rest for a few minutes.
Cover with spray cream topping and chocolate sprinkles, slice and serve.
