Did you know that next week Tuesday, October 5, is World Teachers’ Day? World Teachers’ Day celebrates teachers all around the globe, and has been observed since 1994!
This year’s theme is “Teachers at the heart of education recovery”. This theme was chosen with the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, and the widespread effects it has had on education all around the world.
World Teachers’ Day 2021 will focus on the support that teachers need to fully contribute to the recovery process. We can all imagine that if it was hard to pay attention, stay motivated and stay on-track while learning from home; it must have been hard for our teachers too! They had to learn new skills and adopt new ways of teaching, all while keeping track of the whole class! We sure can appreciate teachers now more than ever.
Be sure to remember the special day coming up, and to say “thank you” to your teacher for all the work that they do. You may want to make a card, or even a craft to show your appreciation.
