Lacoya Carmont and Chadero Kent from Morris Vanterpool Primary School in Anguilla were named this year’s “Prince” and “Princess” in the latest pageant at the end of July, earning the school the title for 2019-2020.
The pageant was presented by the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee and was held at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Center.
The pupils outdid the five other participating schools by winning the Best Introductory Speech, the Best Talent and Best Evening Wear segments.
First runner-up was Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary represented by Teah Heyliger and Ethan Connor. Second runner-up was Orealia Kelly Primary with Timarqus Connor and Timeasha Connor.
The winners received US $350, an Education Savings Fund valued at US $1,500, and cellular phones. Each of the contestants received an electronic tablet, jewellery, school supplies a T-shirt, a Prince and Princess water bottle, and a gift certificate for ice cream.
