All about the ‘Heineken girls’

You see them during the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta events: long legged, pretty ladies beautifully clad in Heineken colours interacting with the crowd, taking photos with fans and just making the event more fun and interesting.

Heineken girls are all the rage during this highly rated, annual event, but what does it take to be one of these beauties?

“The girls need to be outgoing, friendly and energetic, with excellent communication skills, a professional attitude and a desire to meet new people,” Heineken Brand Manager Hannie Seefat says. “They create a closer bond between the consumer and the brand by immersing them in a fun and memorable experience.”

Seefat said Heineken held a “brand promoter casting” where men and women interested in promotion work could go and apply by filling out a form and taking a head shot. “From those profiles gathered, we selected 10 very different looking girls, due to the various cultures on St. Maarten.”

This year, you will find the 10 selected Heineken girls engaging with consumers, handing out giveaways, taking pictures, interacting with the crowd and being present on stage for the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta prize giving.

The girls were present at the official opening of the Regatta Village at Princess Port de Plaisance on Monday, February 25, and will again be at all four Regatta parties today, Thursday, February 28; tomorrow, Friday, March 1; Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3.

To prepare them for their roles, the girls have Coach Francine Chance, who is part of Heineken’s marketing team at International Liquors and Tobacco Trading. Chance will assist and guide the girls with everything throughout the event.

Seefat’s message to everyone who has to interact with the Heineken Girls this year is simple: “The girls play a major role in the event, as they are the medium between consumers and the brand. They will be there to make your experience fun and elevate, but also to give you information about the event if needed.”

Be sure to say hi to the 10 girls during the Regatta.
