Join local author Latoya Lake this weekend for the launch of her second book, Chronicles of My Deception: Kayla’s Truth. The book is a racy romantic tale about a St. Maarten girl who returns home and faces an unexpected challenge with two potential lovers.
Lake is a trained pharmacist assistant and lab technician, who published an earlier novel, It’s like Déjà vu With You, in 2015. This time, Lake introduces McKayla “Kayla” Euson to readers as an ambitious young woman, who gets a promotion at her corporate job in the Netherlands, and returns home to take on this new experience in a familiar place. There, she encounters the sweet and stable Bryan and the arrogant and dangerous Jason.
Lake’s book launch is scheduled for 6:00pm on Sunday, July 30, at Rum & Peas in Cole Bay. It costs $20 to get in, and that entitles guests to a copy of the book and a complimentary drink. Local dancers from National Institute of Arts and poets will provide entertainment, and Lake is promising a “special treat” at the end of the event.
