This special edition of St. Maarten Yacht Club’s famous pub quiz will not take place on a regular Tuesday night at the club. Know-it-all’s and drink-it-all’s alike will battle it out on today, March 3, in the Regatta Village at Port de Plaisance.
Players can walk in from 7:00pm to get settled before the quiz kicks off at 7:30pm.
It’s three to five people and $25 dollars per team, so call your smartest friends and start strategizing – or you can just wing it and enjoy the game, of course. Just remember to register your team so the organisers know all who are coming!
Side note: Those not participating in the regatta will need to show their vaccination card (two vaccinations) or do a self-test at the entrance for $12 and be able to show a negative result, to access the Regatta Village at Port de Plaisance.
As always, we at the Out N About have got your back. The following are some tips to get your game face on:
1. Pick a prize-winning team: If you are in it to win it, then you have to be serious about how you are going to grab that prize. Get together a group of family and friends who you can work well with, and be sure to think about their strengths and weaknesses – you don't want to end up with a team who knows all about music but nothing of current events – and make sure your relationships can withstand the stress.
2. Be on time: We know we’re usually on island-time, but you don't want to end up at the table in the back barely hearing any of the questions. Be sure to get to the village early before the quiz night starts so you can get the best seat in the house.
3. Fuel: You'll need your energy if you're going to win the game, so be sure to indulge in some of the great food options at the Regatta Village. If you're really interested in winning, take it easy when consuming alcohol. A lot of your competition will be drinking so keep your head in the game and save the drinks for your victory toast.
4. Have fun: Whether you win or lose, you've already won. Sure you may have competed and not won the game, but you would have had a great evening with friends just by taking part in the game.
