Pink Sunset Sail

~ Sailing fun for a good cause! ~

After last year’s huge success, Aqua Mania Adventures will again be hosting a Pink Sunset Sail on October 1, at 5:00pm. This is the second event on St. Maarten’s official calendar for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The goal is to generate awareness in the community about this devastating disease that affects so many of us. Aqua Mania Adventures decided to team up with Positive Foundation and Elektralyets Foundation to successfully get this message across and raise funds to help both foundations throughout the year with their other activities and awareness campaigns.

On the day of the event, there will be a Pink Raffle, which takes place aboard the boats that will sail out for the Pink Sunset Sail. Aqua Mania Adventures has reached out to many businesses on the island to provide raffle prizes which include gift boxes from Blue Water Rum, jewellery from Splash Jewelers, locally made art from Carla Templeton; a Tropical Venice Gondola Ride for two; dinner for two at Pineapple Pete; an art piece from Roland Richardson; weekend stays at Summit Resort, Simpson Bay Resort, Divi Little Bay Resort and Oyster Bay Beach Resort; Brunch at Infinity; a two-night stay at Commodores Suites; a necklace from Caribbean Gems; and an abundance of gift certificates from Simpson Bay Pharmacy, Green Fingers, Temptation, TriSport, Sushiitto, Domino’s, Karakter, Buccaneer’s, Escape and St. Maarten Zoo!

With these kinds of prizes, and for such an important cause, who would not want to join the Pink Sunset Sail?! The boat will leave Simpson Bay marina where Aqua Mania Adventures is located, and due to last year’s overwhelming success, an additional boat has been made available. Besides Lambada and Tango, Aqua Mania’s 65’ sailing catamarans, Out Island Charter has made one of its Golden Eagle catamarans available as well, increasing the total capacity to 230 people.

This year’s Pink fun will continue long after the sun has set, as Red Piano’s pianist of the month of October, Allan Sheppard, will be on hand to play his Caribbean tunes when the boats return to shore! Also new this year is a bonus raffle. Back ashore, all remaining raffle tickets will be combined for the final raffle price donated by Budget Marine. One lucky winner will walk away with a beautiful stand up paddleboard!

Tickets cost $40pp and include a unique Pink T-shirt, a Pink Mimosa, open bar, snacks and a beautiful sail along St. Maarten’s golden coastline, sightseeing, sipping cocktails and watching the green flash. Tickets can be bought directly at www.stmaarten-activities.com, at Aqua Mania Adventures, or at the activity desks for hotel guests. Book in advance as tickets are selling quickly and you will not want to be left stranded and miss this amazing event!
