How do Harley Davidsons, beautiful women, strong men, sea, sun and lots of fun sound to you? The annual Bikefest by Caribbean Eagles has reached its eighth year and will take place on November 10-14.
Caribbean Eagles was started 25 years ago by the Harley Davidson owners. Jane Therond-Netto is the president. Currently, there are 14 women and 53 men in the club. Caribbean Eagles is a club for riders of Harley Davidsons, but they are also a family. They support one another, get together for fun events and have family days. They collaborate with organizations such as K1 Britannia and are sponsoring a child at K1Britannia. The club also supports Safe Haven Foundation by organizing a ride around the island and there’s a Breast Cancer Awareness ride every year.
Some people criticize the bikers because they say their bikes make a lot of noise. However, the club’s slogan is “Loud pipes save lives” because when you hear their horns, you are alerted that they are on the road. Bikefest involves an international group of riders, including local participants. Persons from Manako, Luxemburg, Canada, St. Croix, Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Barths and France will travel to the island to take part in the event.
Participants are required to register on November 10. The first ride will take place on November 11, starting at Port de Plaisance and ending at Walter Plantz Square where they will enjoy live music and more. The second ride is on November 12 and will end with a happy hour. On November 13, the last ride will commence and the closing ceremony will also take place on that day.
Motorbike and trike riders are also welcome to participate.
Caribbean Eagles informs the public that many riders from overseas will be on the island and will be using our roads during this period, so please pay extra attention.
