Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with all-you-can-eat tacos @ La Patrona

Cinco de Mayo (May 5) is one of the most celebrated Mexican holidays worldwide. Therefore, it is no surprise that La Patrona, one of our favourite Mexican restaurants on the island, is cooking up a special celebration for tonight. Think tacos, Mexican beer, mezcal, and great service all in a gorgeous venue with majestic ocean views and stargazing opportunities.

Time for a little history: Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth day of the month of May, is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War on May 5, 1862. The day, which falls on Thursday this year, is also known as the Battle of Puebla Day – a relatively minor holiday in Mexico. However, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican populations. And whether you have a connection to Mexico or not, you’d welcome any excuse for tacos, mezcal and beer, right?

Luckily for us, La Patrona is hosting a special Cinco de Mayo celebration with – yes, you guessed it – all-you-can-eat tacos and all-you-can-drink mezcal and Corona beers. For just $25, patrons can indulge in as many traditional Mexican tacos as they want/can. The buffet will be open from 6:00pm until 9:30pm and will include a large variety of Mexican tacos, such as beef, pork and chicken with different sauces, toppings and sides to choose from – and for $10 extra, you can drink as much mezcal or corona to your heart’s (or liver’s) content.
