“Always thanking God, our families, XP Krazies, sponsors, promoters, deejays, radio-personalities, media-outlets and all music lovers for always being there and never elsewhere!”
St. Martin’s back to back Band Clash Champions and reigning Band of the Year is emerging out of a year of hit songs with many huge performances on both local and international stages. Growing together and getting stronger as they rebuild their home, St. Martin, band members hereby inform all both near and far that they plan on going the “DiStAnCe.”
The year 2017 added to the group’s recent success and rise, with their hit songs “SaNtO” and “How Come” as well as their maintaining their place as Band Clash Champions and recapturing the Band of the Year title, reminding themselves that music always wins!
In 2018, the group aims to continue the upward musical, cultural and community related trends and services they have always made an effort to be a part of. Always remembering their motto that “quality and originality beat quantity,” band members have set the bar even higher for themselves than what is expected of them!
First off on their densely saturated schedule was the release of their latest project “DiStAnCe”, which is a “slow-pep locrie” of vocals, riddim, weeping guitars accompanied by pulsating drums and bass. The song was composed and performed by Uncle DwayneE and MaGiC, who have become the tone and face of the band’s frontline. Since the release on January 10 on St. Martin, “MixX!E”, the band leader, has travelled to many of the neighbouring islands, namely St. Eustatius, Antigua, St. Kitts and Saba, doing in-studio/on island/in person promotional releases.
The US Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Antigua, Dominica, St. Vincent, Grenada and Anguilla are to follow shortly, ending with a trip to US for a scheduled interview and release on Soca FM 96.1 and the world renowned www.largeradio.com – oooooh yeah!!!
Da BiG BaD XP then has some three more releases scheduled for Carnival 2018, followed by an album that is currently in the works and promises to be “Musically BiG ‘n BaD”.
“You will definitely hear, feel, see and enjoy what we have in store for our XP Krazies! We Gi Dem X, We Gi Dem XP Now!!”
