~ Fresh and light cuisine sure to please ~
Maho’s hidden gem of a restaurant overlooks the busy strip from the La Terrasse second level. Cozy, cool and cute, you just have to try this exceptional eatery which goes by the understated name of Fig.
Last Friday we did just that, three gals with a taste for the finer things, headed to Maho to dine at the highly recommended hot spot. We ordered a bottle of Savignon Blanc and were treated to a tasty amuse bouche. The evening eased into comfortable conversation, admiration of the extravagant carnival themed decor and decisions over what to order. Two of us ordered on the light side, a signature “Fig” goat cheese salad and an Asian shrimp salad, while the lady with the slightest frame ordered Lamb chops with garlic mash potatoes and fresh veggies. Isn’t that always the way?
When the salads and lamb came, we tucked in with enthusiasm. My Asian shrimp salad was large and full of grilled shrimp, snow peas and baby greens, perfectly seasoned with a sesame-garlic dressing and dusted with chopped peanuts. It was a perfect match to the citrus-y wine and gave me the opportunity to nibble and sip for a long time, savouring every flavour. Everyone praised their food, and no one shared, not sure what that means – but the overall impression was certainly positive all around.
In time we ordered coffees and shared a large slice of carrot cake, which was delivered with complementary aperitifs. The quality of the food was superb by all counts, the service was friendly and on point and the evening was a dream worth repeating.
If you are looking for a lovely meal full of fresh flavour and service that makes you feel like royalty, make a date to dine at FIG, then relax, the rest is easy.
