How many of you feel like you drank a little too much during the holiday season? Or in fact throughout the whole year of 2020? (What a year!) We know how that feels. We sense that people might need a break from alcohol. So here we are in January facing a fresh start, in which people usually avoid booze for the whole month.
This term coined “Dry January” started in the UK, as a campaign or challenge to encourage people to get their fun, energy and calm back without the alcohol. Heineken 0.0 in St. Maarten is putting a twist on “Dry January” turning this worldwide campaign to “Try January” – an effort that encourages people to try multiple fitness-, food-, fun-, and social-related activities while going Dry.
Here is a list of activities to try this week, while enjoying a cold Heineken 0.0:
1. #TryJanuary Activity 1: Live music at Lagoonies Bistro & Bar
Situated in Cole Bay, Lagoonies Bistro & Bar is the secret legendary spot, a must-stop by land or by sea! Every week, Lagoonies hosts a variety of bands ranging from Cuban to Afro and more. Live music at Lagoonies is a must on our #TryJanuary calendar and a must-do, even if you're going dry, while wanting to be social.
2. #TryJanuary Activity 2: Philipsburg artwalk
The year 2020 brought St. Maarten some colour, thanks to 12 amazing local artists that painted murals across St. Maarten's capital – Philipsburg! The project is initiated by @colormesxm and is supported by talented artists, hard-working volunteers, supportive businesses, and various funding partners.
Take the artwalk challenge, locate the map, spend the day in town, find all 12 murals, take beautiful pictures and stop by Holland House, The Pier, Taloula Mango’s, Greenhouse or Qualichi for a cold Heineken 0.0!
3. #TryJanuary Activity 3: Zip through Rainforest Adventures experience
