‘Keep Walking, St. Maarten’
As the island continues its path to recovery after natural disasters of recent years past, Johnnie Walker launches a Black Label special edition to remind St. Maarten to “Keep Walking”. This special edition will have the iconic striding man, which represents the whisky brand, wearing the colour of the national flag, and will be available in limited quantities only.
“During Carnival last year, we launched a ‘Keep Walking, St. Maarten’ campaign; and now we are bringing this special edition to the island, to make sure we remind the people to continue facing the future with hope, strength and determination, to move forward, as only a country that walks together can progress,” said Roel Kokkelmans, Commercial Manager at International Liquor and Tobacco Trading (ILTT) NV, local distributor of the brand in St. Maarten.
“It’s fantastic that a global giant like Johnnie Walker makes a special edition for our small country. It’s something that every St. Maartener can be a proud of,” said ILTT NV Managing Director Lenny Bain.

The Johnnie Walker Black Label St. Maarten edition is available in most major supermarkets for a limited time only and until supplies last.

WHISKY SOUR RECIPE
Try your hand at a whisky sour, made moreish by the contrast of the syrup and citrus flavours that perfectly complements the signature flavours of Johnnie Walker. Served either over ice in a tumbler, or neat in a cocktail glass, the whisky sour is a classic that has stood the test of time.
HAT TO PUT IN A WHISKY SOUR
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
0.75 oz lemon juice
0.75 oz 1:1 simple syrup
2 dashes aromatic bitters
Add in optional egg white
HOW TO MAKE A WHISKY SOUR
METHOD
- Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all the ingredients.
- Shake: Shake hard for 7-10 seconds (double this if you're using egg white) to mix all the ingredients.
- Dry shake (optional – only required if using egg white): Strain into a glass, remove the ice and shake again without ice.
- Strain and serve: Either serve neat in a cocktail glass, or over ice in a tumbler.
