Kam’s FoodWorld goes plastic-free

Plastic bags are a convenient way to carry our purchased goods when we go shopping. They are a part of our modern lives, and we don’t tend to think much about them. However, this convenience of plastic shopping bags carries with it a very high cost to the environment and also negatively affects human health. The majority of plastic bags are made of polypropylene, a material that is made from petroleum and natural gas.

Both of these materials are non-renewable fossil fuel-based resources and through their extraction and production, they create greenhouse gases, which contribute to global climate change.

Kam’s FoodWorld is now following in the amazing innovation of eliminating plastic bags from their store. The store will no longer be giving out plastic bags to its shoppers and anyone wishing to make a purchase is asked to bring their own reusable tote bags. However, they understand that you may not always remember your bags, so for your convenience they will be offering paper bags at US $0.20 or reusable bags for US $2.00.

This is an amazing step and we not only applaud Kam’s FoodWorld, we also fully endorse everything about this endeavour.
