Kent Jones @ Soggy Dollar Bar

Presented by Presidente Beer & CC1 Sint Maarten

The Presidente Music Vibes Tour is a new concept by Presidente Beer – that’s when different international artists perform throughout the Caribbean – all the islands “United by Rhythm.”

This edition is the kick-off event scheduled to be held in Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten. The first edition of the Presidente MusicVibes Tour in collaboration with CC1 Sint Maarten will take place at Soggy Dollar Bar on Saturday, July 8! On this EPIC night, come prepared for a spectacular show as you will get the chance to see Kent Jones perform LIVE!

Darrel Kent Jones was born on April 14, 1993, in Tallahassee, Florida. As a youngster, he came in contact with music in his local church, while he was also taught to play the drums by his aunt. Later on, Jones started taking formal music lessons at Dillard, which has had one of the best high school jazz programs in the country. He started developing an interest in jazz music, appreciating the music of Oscar Peterson, John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson and The Count Basie Orchestra.

In the summer of 2012, Jones first started working with record producers and songwriters Cool & Dre, signing a record deal with their label Epidemic Records. While at Epidemic, he collaborated with the likes of Fat Joe, The Game, Currensy, Queen Latifah, and Busta Rhymes. In 2015, Cool & Dre introduced him to DJ Khaled, who eventually signed him in a joint venture record deal to his own label “We the Best Music Group and Epic Records”.

Jones released his first mixtape titled “Tours” in July 2015. The mixtape’s most successful song, “Don’t Mind” – which we on Sint Maarten have all heard played frequently on the radio – was later released as a single and rose to popularity. “Don’t Mind” would go on to be one of the biggest hits in 2016. Jones is currently working on his new album.

Next to Kent Jones, Sint Maarten’s own Kenyo Baly will be taking the stage at Soggy Dollar Bar! Born on January 3, 1996, Kenyo Alexandre Baly began singing in church at the age of six. He has taken part in numerous competitions and showcases both here and abroad, and has learned to hone his singing and song writing talent in this competitive environment.

After graduating from high school in 2014, Kenyo decided to concentrate solely on his singing and song writing career. Since then, he has gained significant exposure as a featured soloist. He’s participated in interviews and has performed on major television stations including ABC, NBC, FOX5, Newsday, Channel 12 and CNN.

Besides his popular singles such as “Got Played”, “Do You Ever” and “Wild Fete”, his Soca hit “Who Yuh Fuh” set this year’s Carnival events on fire.

With Kent Jones, Kenyo Baly, Dj Biggers Mixmaster Pauly and MC Suppa, it is sure to be another hot event this Saturday! Come prepared for a night of partying, Presidente specials, giveaways, gorgeous Presidente girls, a fetin’ crowd and a great time! Tickets are available for $10.

Who is performing for the second edition of The Presidente Music Vibes Tour? That is a surprise, but we can tell you that the line-up will be crazy!

Keep an eye on CC1’s Facebook page (facebook.com/CC1SXM) and get a chance to win free tickets, other Presidente goodies and be the first to know who is performing and when!
