Masquerade Fundraising Event

~ A mystical evening under the stars ~

Philipsburg Promotional Board in collaboration with St. Maarten Aids Foundation is hosting their masquerade fundraising ball “A Mystical Evening Under the Stars” this Saturday, December 14, at Area 44 outdoor lounge, which will be transformed into a kaleidoscopic-type atmosphere, and the comfortable air-conditioned Sheer Restaurant at the Promenade Mall on Front Street.

Billed as the year’s most stylish event, the program will include special recognition of Judy Bell, for her many years of service to the community as Project Manager of St. Maarten Aids Foundation, which recently celebrated International Aids Day on December 1.

Guests to this elegant red carpet event will be greeted by several show girls and will enjoy fabulous door prizes, live jazz entertainment, delicious hor d’oeuvres, welcome champagne, an open bar with several fine brands of wines and beers, photo ops at the Step & Repeat plus dancing with a fabulous deejay and a fantastic band.

Guests will also be fascinated by a hammock dance repertoire five metres above the crowd and enjoy masked acrobats, a large fire fan and hoop dance performances, plus awesome dance performances by the ever popular Dazzling Divas and other entertainment surprises. You are encouraged to attend in cocktail attire, festive mask and or theatrical hair & makeup. Masks are available at Dollar Bazaar and makeup can be done by Funtopia.

Transportation will be provided from APS parking lot (next to the new Government Building) on the Trolley Train from 7:30pm to 9:00pm to take you to Area 44 and Sheer (opposite the Catholic Church/Horizon Beach Hotel) and return transportation by shuttle throughout the night.

The masquerade ball grand door prize is a five-night stay in a five-bedroom beach villa on Anguilla, which has been voted the #1 island to stay in the Caribbean for three consecutive years. All funds raised will go towards Philipsburg Promotional Board and St. Maarten Aids Foundation to assist both non-profit organizations with their community work for the betterment of the island. Visit the respective foundations Facebook pages and websites to see their community work.

Tickets to the event are available at Holland House Hotel and Van Dorp, or call 542-635 to have your ticket delivered. This event is endorsed by St. Maarten Aids Foundation president Ian van Osch and Philipsburg Promotional Board president Valentin Davis.
