New album alert: Revelation Time by Elijah Bannis

Reggae artiste and bass player, Elijah Bannis is back with a powerful new album, Revelation Time. Known for his soulful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, Elijah invites the public to listen to his album that calls for love, unity and a better future for all.

With four brand-new songs and two TV-mix instrumentals with vocals, this album is a must-have for every reggae fan and music lover. Each song is carefully crafted by Elijah himself, speaking to societal issues, religious expressions and personal reflections. “Music is the past, the present, and the future,” Elijah explains.

One of his new tracks, “Hear Me When I Call”, emphasises the importance of prayer and gratitude. “The birds and the plants, the food – give thanks for everything,” Elijah explains, reminding us all to appreciate the blessings in life.

“Oh What a Life”, another powerful song on the album, sheds light on the harsh realities of poverty. Mentioning the high grocery prices and the low minimum wage on St. Maarten, Elijah points at the lack of support from those in power.

The album also explores the theme of love with the touching track, “Sharon, I Love You.” Elijah believes that everyone should have a companion in life, and dedicated this song to his partner, Sharon.

The title track, “Revelation Time”, is about Judgment Day. “Judgment is coming, no one can stop that,” Elijah declares, urging listeners to reflect on their lives and prepare for what’s to come.

Elijah’s musical journey began at a young age, inspired by his father, who played the flute. His passion was further nurtured by his sisters, who gave him a guitar and keyboard. Today, Elijah is also a skilled composer, arranger, and performer, playing in various bands, including Roots Foundation Band, where he showcases his talents as a bass player.
