NYE 2.0: Crew Year’s Eve

NYE 2.0: Crew Year’s Eve

On Friday, January 6

New Year’s Eve is a night to celebrate and go to one of the many parties on the island – except if you work in the hospitality or marine industry, where the odds are high that you were working on December 31, entertaining guests at restaurants, bars or nightclubs where the New Year’s Eve celebrations were taking place.

If you work in the marine industry, you were probably making sure that the mega yachts that departed to St. Barts were fully supplied and ready to spend a couple days offshore. “Happy New Year” sounds different when it finds you working with your colleagues in an office or washing glasses behind the bar. This is where Crew Year’s Eve, which will be observed this Friday, January 6, comes in!

Because January 6 isn’t the night for celebrations, the odds are much better that you can have the evening off, that you are not on a charter, and that you can trade shifts with a colleague who was off on NYE (lucky duck!). Now you can celebrate! With several crew parties happening at the big marinas like Isle del Sol, Yacht Club Port de Plaisance and La Palapa (Soggy Dollar Bar), you can party the night away as if it were really NYE – including a fireworks show at 10:00pm in the Simpson Bay Lagoon!

With the support of IGY Marinas, Yacht Club Port de Plaisance and Palapa Marina, the St. Maarten Marine Trades Association takes this opportunity to thank those working in the hospitality and marine industry – and most definitely the mega yachts and crew for returning to St. Maarten. However, this event is for all of St. Maarten to enjoy. It is also very accessible – just pick a location in Simpson Bay and enjoy the evening!

With the fireworks happening in the Lagoon, all bars and restaurants surrounding this area will offer front row seats to this show and make for great locations to enjoy St. Maarten’s cuisine, cocktails and fireworks with your friends and family.

So get ready for NYE Part-2 – Crew Year’s Eve! Enjoy the show and let’s continue to cheer on the year 2023!
