Presidente ‘We Jammin’ Still’ Benefit Concert Headliners

This Sunday, make sure you come out and support the We Jammin Still Benefit Concert sponsored by Presidente beer. Get to know the headliners:

Ultimate Rejects

Ultimate Rejects is a multi-talented group of four, and we are an all-round creative outfit, both visually and sonically, that hail from the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The group comprises of industry professionals Edghill Thomas aka MX Prime, Johann Seaton aka Madman Johann, Joel Aming aka Iceman and Avaron Vanloo who simply identifies with a first name basis. Between the four individuals lies a creative connection that is as unique as it is limitless.

We are capable of producing multiple genres of music, but have a passion for the electronic sound of Dance Music. This pulse drives us to stretch and even possibly breakthrough the borders of imagination to fuse that “sound” with our Caribbean heritage, otherwise known locally as CDM (Caribbean Dance Music). It is through this experimentation process with indigenous sounds fused with sounds from around the globe that has brought about success to date by being hailed as “Kings of the Road” in the recently concluded Trinidad and Tobago 2017 Carnival Season.

King Vers

A combination of smooth melodies, aggressive flows and lyrics for a lifetime; everyone – both here and abroad – has heard of King Vers at some point. We have been blessed with a dedicated, hardworking and prolific artist – the island’s very own Musical Ambassador.

Reporting live from Sunshine City St. Maarten, he brings with him a refreshing new sound to Soca and the world. Writing music since 2002, the former all-rounder officially found his lane in the Soca arena a few years ago and has since grown into a dynamic performer.

King Vers’ style ranges from smooth and melodic to rough and edgy. His stage shows are energetic and interactive and will leave you covered in powder and water. Be it about a party vibe, a road jam or something more inspirational, his songs always tell a story.

He is the 2016 and 2017 Soca Rumble King, having dominated the competition with a performance that electrified the audience across the venue. Credited with having changed the Soca scene in St. Maarten, he now continues to do the same abroad. In June 2016, he represented St. Maarten at the BVI Soca Monarch competition and ran away with the best performance award.

With a growing buzz, he is sure to make an appearance at a stage near you. Keep your eyes and ears open for what’s to come from the one and only King Vers. This year has seen him performing everywhere both locally and abroad.

Exodus HD

With more than 10 records over the past decade and half, Exodus HD, formerly Exodus Band, has made its mark on the soca scene music industry in the sub region. HD, as the band is more commonly known, is most recognized by its delivery of unique beats accompanied by robust lyrics which catapulted it to four consecutive Roadmarch victories dating back to 2013 with the dynamic fan favourite track entitled “For Di Fans Dem.”

The band has also embarked on a mission to deliver self-motivating and empowering music as captured in songs such as 2014’s “Enjoy Yourself” and 2017’s “Own Boss.”

Over the course of its existence, Exodus HD would have transitioned, whether with their musicians or otherwise, but believed that they had the right musicians to catapult their music to the wider region and further afield to the international stage.

The band is currently fostering relationships with promoters and other key persons in a number of Caribbean islands, the US and the UK as part of a new marketing and promotion campaign launched in April. Band members anticipate traveling to perform and market their music on these stages in the very near future.

On behalf of their management and support team, HD wishes the residents of St. Martin/St. Maarten a speedy recovery. Band members are aware that everyone has suffered losses as a result of the passage of Hurricane Irma in one form or another, but remain confident that Anguilla and Sint Maarten will rise again.
