Family Feud Regatta
St. Maarten Yacht Club - Sailing on the Lagoon
Sailing is what happens all year round, of course, and there are a number of regattas held year round too. This upcoming regatta is an exciting one, as the name says it will be a “Family Feud.” May the best team win!! The regatta takes place over two days - Saturday October 3 and 10
Rules
The organizing authority is St. Maarten Yacht Club. The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing of ISAF (2013-2016) and by the Sailing Instructions.
Eligibility and Entry
The regatta will be sailed in RS Vision
For entry information we need team name and ages.
Conformation must be received by October 8.
Open to SMYC members only
Maximum 12 teams
Entry will be run on a first come first served basis
Boats
The St. Maarten Yacht Club will provide 6 RS Visions
Boats will be allocated before each race
Fees
The entry fee for the regatta is $40.00 per team
Schedule
Registration/Skippers briefing will be held at St. Maarten Yacht Club on Saturday, 3 October, at 1:00pm.
Rigging 12.30pm
Racing will not start before 1.30pm
Prize giving will be held as soon as possible after racing is finished and boats are put away.
Courses
Racing will take place in Simpson Bay Lagoon or Simpson Bay, location to be announced on the notice board.
Courses will be made available at registration.
Safety
Lifejackets must be worn on the water at all times
Mast head floats must be used
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to winners.
Additional prizes, to be announced at the skippers briefing, will be awarded.
