Rotary Charity Motor Treasure Hunt

Popular and culturally innovative fund raising activity

Have you ever been part of a treasure hunt, enjoyed the fun and games of teamwork and known that the entire adventure is for a good cause?

Whether you have of have not been involved in this super fun event, you get your chance to be a part of it on Sunday, March 13!

This charity event starts and finishes on Kim Sha Beach. The Rotary Club of St. Maarten Mid Isle intends to use the funds raised from this event to assist the DigiKidz@St. Maarten Project. This will bring 21st century learning to classrooms on St. Maarten. This charity event is a fun-filled and educational motor expedition, based on urban and rural exploration and discovery.

This event is neither a motor rally, nor a race. With an expectation of a maximum of 40 sponsored vehicles (fully decorated with the sponsors’ banners, flags, logos, products etc.) with a maximum 4-person team, who are encouraged to dress in a team outfit, this event is one not to be missed. Each team will comprise a Driver, a Navigator and two “Look-outs,” who will assist in spotting clues and finding hidden “Treasures.” Participants must follow a detailed and specific route in search of a number of clues to find the “Treasure” and also answer questions outlined in a booklet.

The teams will leave Kim Sha Beach at approximately one-minute intervals, with the first team expected to leave at 9:00 am.

The questions will challenge the minds and abilities of the participants on matters such as local culture, general knowledge, current events, historic and touristic interests, as well as the local way of life in St. Maarten/St. Martin.

There will be a number of checkpoints along the route where each vehicle must stop. These checkpoints are monitored by “Field Marshals” to ensure compliance with the rules and guidelines of the Treasure Hunt.

The complete route will last approximately four hours, and the team returning with the most correct answers and “Treasures” will win the competition and the main prize.

Entry fee is US $500 per team

Support this amazing event by sponsoring in the way you can. Sponsors will be able to promote their company and products along the route by distributing free samples and giveaways… as done in a mobile trade show!
