Bottoms up for Rum and Beer Festival
Beer and rum connoisseurs and responsible drinkers all over will have something thirst quenching to celebrate this weekend when the fifth annual Caribbean Rum and Beer Festival gets underway.
All roads lead to Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino’s Banqueting Suite on November 6 and 7, for this much-anticipated annual event.
The festival will feature the competitive 2015 CAB Taste Contest, which you don’t want to miss. Patrons will get a chance to sample a range of the world’s finest rum and beer products. You will also get a chance to learn more about your favourite beverages.
This year’s festival can also look forward to a fun line-up of activities ranging from the Master Classes from international rum and beer experts; live culinary displays of cooking with rum and beer and “Rum Cocktail Wars” (an explosive bartender contest) to entertainment throughout both days including steel pan music, African drumming and dance troupes; Deejay and live music on stage; rum cakes and chocolates and local arts and craft.
Tickets are available at St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association office on Walter J.A. Nisbeth Road 33a in Philipsburg (just above the Subway restaurant). Call 542-0108 / open 8:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays.
