Looking to get away from the hustle and bustle without having to travel far? Statia is only a short flight or ferry ride away! Known for its authentic culture, rich history, and natural beauty, the quiet leeward island offers serenity and tranquillity alongside hiking, diving, and historical sightseeing.

According to Statia’s tourism bureau, St. Eustatius presents an “open-air museum with 119 historical monuments offering compelling opportunities to immerse yourself in our rich, eventful past.”

The island is also known for its pristine coral reefs, historic shipwrecks and colourful sea creatures – its 36 dive sites offer divers plenty of opportunities to unravel the island’s underwater mysteries.

Hiking enthusiasts may enjoy exploring the Quill, Statia’s dormant volcano, to be rewarded by panoramic views of Statia’s unspoiled nature; or they may venture on the many other hiking trails along the rugged coast or through the lush hills.

There are only a few beaches on Statia, but unlike most of our beaches, the hidden bays with crystal-clear waters are often secluded and empty – meaning you will probably have the serene spot all to yourself. Don’t forget to bring a snorkel to explore Statia’s underwater flora and fauna and the remnants of the island’s rich history.
